Auf 37signals (ja genau die) hab ich soeben eine recht interessante Diskussion gefunden. Es wurde die Frage gestellt wo eigentlich die ganzen Intranets geblieben sind und welche Software benutzt wird.

Aus den Kommentaren kristalisieren sich einige Favoriten heraus:

1. M$ Sharepoint Server … nicht wirklich überraschend da der neue Sharepoint sehr gut sein soll.
2. Wikis
3. Homegrown bzw. Spezialsoftware

Hier ein paar nette Auszüge aus den Kommentaren:

Eigentlich ein schöner Ansatz, einfach ein Multi-Blog verwenden … Drupal könnte dafür gut geeignet sein?

Genau was ich immer sage: Mehr Mut zur (Eigen)-Entwicklung! Der nächste ist wirklich geil …

It has wikis, blogs, forums, version control, workflow management, …, blah, blah, blah. All are functional, but none are very usable and features lag those available on the open web by over 12 months.”

Ich kenne das OpenText System aus einer Präsentation und aus der Sicht eines Entwicklers hat auf den ersten Blick alles sehr schön ausgesehen (bis auf den Preis :) … aber anscheinend sehen das die Benutzer doch anders?

Für mich stellt sich nun die Frage was ein Intranet eigentlich genau können muß. Welche Features werden in vielen Firmen gebraucht? Derzeit realisieren wir Intranets genau wie Internet-Seiten nur das man von “Außen” nicht zugreifen kann. Das heißt es gibt News-Bereiche, Statische Seiten mit Inhalten für verschiedene Bereiche, ab und zu ein Formular für einen speziellen Zweck (Killerapplikation: Ski-Tag-Anmeldung) und Verlinkungen auf andere Applikationen. Nicht zu vergessen auch die Suche die immer schlechter funktioniert als sie funktionieren sollte.
