Wirklich unmöglich
Das Autorun (autorun.inf) Feature von Windows XP wird anscheinend für USB Sticks nur teilweise unterstützt. Icon und System-Menu Einträge ändern, funktioniert, aber das Autoplay nicht. Also das automatische Starten einer speziellen Applikation ohne Nachfrage.
Siehe Microsoft: “The Autorun capabilities are restricted to CD-ROM drives and fixed disk drives. If you need to make a USB storage device perform Autorun, the device must not be marked as a removable media device and the device must contain an Autorun.inf file and a startup application.” … Aber die meisten Sticks sind als “removeable” markiert und dann wird nur das Autostart-Menu angezeigt.
Mit einem normalen USB-Stick kann man das anscheinend nicht umgehen nur mit einem U3 ist das (angeblich) möglich. Auf einem U3-Stick gibt es wohl noch eine zweite Partition damit Windows glaubt man hat eine CD eingelegt.
